Ai-Automated Rigging using Google MediaPipe for body landmark detection. Can basic rig a character in 7 seconds!
QRig (QuickRigger) is a Blender tool I created to quickly rig characters to test out animations. It is based on the same concept used in other rigging tools where joint targets are placed according to their body parts, and the tool automatically rigs the model based on these targets. User can also setup the character facing direction and bone orientation.
Current version supports a basic rig with optional simple IK controls for arms and legs, and AI-assisted full rigging process (using MediaPipe) that can take a character from still to animated in less than 10 seconds.
Working on adding hand and facial rigging, as well as game engine naming convention and customization.
